At their November meeting, the library Board of Trustees approved the creation of Kate's Corner in memory of Kate Lorenz, a former student at Cavendish Town Elementary School and beloved community member. Kate's love of learning and children led her to become a dedicated and much loved preschool teacher.

Building for Books donated $1000 to start the project which includes the purchasing of books to enhance the early literacy collection. In addition, the library will soon have regularly scheduled weekly Early Literacy Story Time and other programs designed for infants, toddlers, and preschool children and their families and caregivers.
