Moving to Phase Two

To my Dear Patrons,

The curve is looking flattened and more things are reopening, including the library.  Right now we are offering curbside services (or in our case, lobby service) and circulating materials from our collection.

As we move towards allowing patrons into the library, there are things we have to take into account.

First and foremost is patrons safety. In order to enter the library, patrons must sanitize their hands and wear a mask.  We must also limit the number of people in the library at any time to allow for social distancing.  With our square footage that means approximately 5 patrons in the library at any given time.  We also must limit the time that patrons are in the library to fifteen minutes.

Touch points in the library must be sanitized along with all circulating materials.  This is going to mean a longer turn around for items before they may be checked out again.

Since the number of patrons must be limited, it also means that any programming will be held outdoors.

Right now, I am waiting for the delivery of different items which will allow us to reopen to the public.  As I'm sure you're aware, items such as masks, sanitizer and paper towels are at a premium.  As soon as we have the items in house and set up, we will reopen.

In the meantime, please continue to use our lobby circulation point.  It is great to see your faces, even if it is behind a mask.

Summer Reading Program with a Twist

This summer our program will be held outdoors.  Every bit of it.  We will read outside, have programs under a large tent outside and play in a "campsite" outside.   We will do all of this while following social distancing rules, eating great food and having a lot of fun.  All activities can be completed at the library or may be picked up and completed at home.  Please contact the library to sign up your child.

Renovations Update

The Cavendish Fletcher Community Library would like to thank Chadwick Builders for contributing time and materials to renovate the library.  We now have a new open area for preschool programming!
