My Dear Patrons,

Due to the increase in COVID cases and with an abundance of caution, the library is returning to curbside status.

This means patrons are not allowed in the library at this time.

However, we are still circulating items in the lobby.  You can stop by, sanitize your hands, put on a mask (if you weren't wearing one) and ring the doorbell for service.

Alternatively, you may call, email or text the library with a list items you would like to check out and we will package them up for you and they will await you at the lobby.

We have enhanced our free wifi, so that anyone may use it at up to 400 feet away from the library building, and removed the password for the time being.

We continue to follow CDC guidelines for sanitizing our collections.

Please take solace in the knowledge that this is temporary.

I know I do.

Welcome to the Cavendish Fletcher Community Library!

Our Story

We were formed through a grassroots effort in 1990 replacing two smaller libraries and giving the Cavendish Town Elementary School a school library for the first time.

The Cavendish Fletcher Community Library serves as both the town and school library for Cavendish and Proctorsville, which allows a small town to have a full-time library during the school year. Library classes for CTES students are taught in the morning Monday-Friday.  The Library opens to town patrons each day at noon.

The library contains approximately 14,000 items including books, movies, audio books and over 30 periodical subscriptions. We have four computers available for patron use and provide free Wi-Fi.

The library serves the community with several programs including after school children's programming, a summer reading program, and an adult book club.
