After School Programs are Back

          With the school year starting any day now, the Cavendish Fletcher Community Library is rolling out its after school programming. The schedule will be the same as last year with a K-1 program being held each Wednesday there is school and staffing available and a grades 2-3 and 4-6 program alternating Thursday throughout the school year.

This year however there will be a few changes. Thanks to a generous grant from an anonymous benefactor, the K-1 students who attend the after school programs will be receiving a free copy of the book that is featured in that week's program. There is no cost for this, but the attendance on those programs is limited to 15 students.

Also new to the library is the "Advanced Reader's Club". This will meet once a month during lunch. This club is sponsored by "The Book Nook" in Ludlow. Don't let the name of the group fool you. This is not for students reading on a college level, it is an opportunity for students grades four and up to read and review books not yet available for purchase in stores. The reviews will be sent to Patty at "The Book Nook" and used to inform her purchasing decisions. There is no charge for this club and students will be able to keep some of the books they review. This club may be open to students in grade three depending on the reading level of the advanced copies donated to the club.

After School Programs Fall 2010

Please note: the first after school program will be on September 15 due to staffing. There will be no programs on days where there is no school or when there is early dismissal due to poor weather conditions. If the program is canceled for any reason, you will receive a phone call noting as such. Also, as these programs do fill up rapidly, please get your paperwork signed and returned to the school as soon as possible.

September 15 —Booksploration grades K-1

September 16 —Club 23 grades 2-3, Fabulous jigsaw puzzles.

September 22 —Booksploration grades K-1, If You Give a Pig a Party- Book Disbursement

September 23 —Itchy Fingers Grades 4-6

Basic cake decorating part 1.

September 30- Club 23 Grades 2-3

Beading.

October 7- Itchy Fingers Grades 4-6 , Basic cake decorating part 2.

October 13- Booksploration Grades K-1
